NYFW Highlights: DAY 5

2:43 PM

After a long break, Chromantics team makes a major comeback just in time for one of the most important seasons of the year. As you may have guessed, it's that time of the year again. The one when we all try to catch up with every single show (and sometimes fail miserably). But -as always- somewhere along the way we'll manage once again to bring to you our POV from all our favorite shows, trends and after parties from the first day of NYFW 'till the very last one of Paris Fashion. So, let's dig in the shows of NYFW Day 5. (DAY 1,DAY 2DAY 3DAY 4

Could you be loved and be loved? Yes you can and those were the vibes from the Tommy Hilfiger spring/summer collection. Beach chairs on sandy hills, a small lake in the middle of the stage and models spreading the message of this collection, Island life in the centre of Manhattan. Ethnic and african prints on mini, airy, knit colourful dresses, floral bomber jackets, high waisted pants and those amazing swimsuits which remind us of the summer that just ended and the next one that we cannot wait for. On the other hand, Carolina Herrera decided to play with pink shades. This collection took us all straight into a candy shop. Airy, baby pink dresses with the classiness of the brand and those amazing feather or plisse finish. Cropped tops combined with high waisted floral skirts contrasted the few total black dresses and suits!

Jeremy Scott is moving a decade forward. 80's for his fashion shows will always be a beloved inspiration. Disco girls with metallic total printed suits, mini skirts and and belted jackets on the most bright colors such as green, orange and pink. The characteristic of the show was those massive hair on the models. The mood of 3.1 Phillip Lim collection was like the first moment of a flower that which is about to bloom. Silk creations with some florals details, amazing leather jackets, high waisted pants and crop tops on green, blue and a few nude shades completed the palette of this show.

This season, till today, we saw many decades and styles, 70's and 80's, disco or flower girls but now we will talk about punk. Libertine spring collection was all about punk and patchwork. The truth is that patchwork was everywhere, making a beautiful contrast on the black, metallic or purple creations. Prints couldn't miss this collection on maxi airy dress, fur jackets, sequins (of course!), maxi coats and leggings created a more punk/sporty sense. On the other hand Karen Walker, played with the 80's. Total denim outfits, high waisted pants, sporty sweaters, airy dresses and bomber jackets were some of the main pieces of the collection.

And now my two favorite collections of the night. I will start with Rag&Bone. The classic bomber jackets of R&G at orange or metallic colors was something that we loved, high waisted, mindi skirts, sporty overals and total leather outfits were some of the basic pieces of the collection. As for the details: see-through and knit dressed some of the creations. Generally, the pallet of the show was blue black, classic black but with some orange or yellow to create a spring contrast. On the other hand, Zac Posen played at the same color pallet with Rag&Bone and that is something weird but at the same time interesting for us. Now, we will travel back to the 60's with those black cotton sundress dresses, the classic shape of jackets with silk details remind us St.Tropez back to the 60's. And because we are talking about Zac Posen and red carpet dresses is like his second name total satin creations, printed maxi or laced mini gave another tropical summer sense at the collection.

We couldn't miss the presentation of our favorite brand Mansur Gavriel. In the classic scenery of the brand the pieces were presented in those pastels colors and every corner was like an Instagram moment. This presentation was special because the brand presented for the first time shoes, except from the bags! Suede was everywhere in every color you can imagine! The only thing that we know, is that we want them all!
