NYFW S/S'15 : Day 1+2

4:02 PM

Fashion Weeks are again on and this year we could define all the trends for Spring/Summer 2015 from the begining. Join us to our journey where we'll be discovering all the things that need to be checked out during the upcoming weeks.

Let's start off with New York Fashion Week though. It started yesterday and we have to admit: every show only lives us wanting more. From Peter Som to Stella Nolasco the first couple days a few of the most exciting shows we've seen took place in NYC. But let's check out a few highlights from the past days.

Tadashi Shoji and Creatures of the Wind
Tadashi Shoji's line was a dream come true for every romantic who loves a great red carpet. Black, white and pastel hues tule and lacey details completed the looks of the amazing tailored gowns which we're expecting to see in a lot of events next season. Creatures of the Wind show was quite the opposite but it was quite frankly a Ready-to-Wear collection at its best. We loved the comfy lines with the amazing designs and the mix of nude and bright hues.

BCBG Max Azria and Peter Som
I think those two shows were the most talked about ones so far. Intruiguing designs, smart outwear and skirts in various lenghts: that's only a few of the trends we discovered through these collections. Of course Peter Som used bolder colors, while BCBG Max Azria's designs were light, airy and a but romantic.

Zimmermann and Stella Nolasco
Again, with Zimmermann it was all about see-through,silk, lacey fabrics. We loved the sleeveless coats and the twist with the slightly boho shirts underneath. Metallic pieces made the show more updated, while the approval given to mules as next season's shoes gave a streetstyle air to the show. Stella Nolasco is a designer I never paid much attention to, to be honest. After this collection though I will be sure to check out all her latest shows. Why? because she had it all, bright colours, futuristic florals and everything on top of amazing textures!

Jason Wu and Rebecca Minkoff
Let's start of with the piece I loved the most: the Jason Wu shoulder bags. Of course when paired with the amazing muted colors and the minimalistic lines and completed with the mule/sandal hybrid shoes they gave a truly perfect look! I think that the skirts and the dressed in different lengths were something those two shows had in common, though what made Rebecca Minkoff's one differ were the beautiful pastels, the white/blue stripes, the fringed bags and the big iconic hats. To finish off both designers included a few innovating patterns just to keep everything modern and up-to-date!

Monique Lhuillier and Suno
Suno was all about cold blue grey tones and wearable prints. We really loved the mixed prints, the strips and the comfy looking pajama pants. The shoes were definetely modern sportswear and perfect for everyone who wants to mimic a bit of streetstyle in everyday life. Monique Lhuillier was something completely different. Innovating textures and materials completing chic and feminine pink/floral pieces. Really girly and fresh with a modern twist.
